Development 6

For my development 6, I chose to do a reshoot and expand on my images of the fun side of night which often involves the use of alcohol. Using a club as my location, I took images of everything that I observed around me. Whereas in my previous shoot I focused on particular people, within these shoots I wanted to keep my images broad, showing the what happens inside a club at night from an impersonal perspective.

This image portrays three people whom are standing at a bar whilst in conversation. It is assumed that they are waiting to be served. This image incorporates both the styles of John Brownlow and Anthony Rivera. The use of lighting which is prominent within the image highlights certain areas, such as the woman who is standing directly underneath one light. Furthermore, the lightning allows the image to take on a high contrast something which is further aided by the use of black and white.

I think this image has been successful in portraying the inside of a club from one aspect as well as using the styles of both John Brownlow and Anthony Rivera to portray my theme of night. Through the use of the mans body language, it could appear as if the conversation between the three people is rather heated, with the two women ganging up on the man. The man is holding his hands to his chest, suggesting he is either denying something or trying to prove his point. The women both appear to have their hands on their hips creating a defiant stance. I think this makes to create an interesting image as the viewer suddenly becomes curious as to what nature their conversation is taking. It is unclear whether or not the three of them are in deed arguing or whether they are just having a nice conversation. Furthermore, it is left unclear whether or not the three of them know each other, or whether or not they are just strangers who have met in the bar.
